Frequently Asked Questions

Is Ajora Grooming Spray safe for dogs?

Ajora dog spritz is water-based and made with naturally-derived ingredients. It does not contain any harsh chemicals or synthetic fragrances and is pH-balanced. Gingergrass and Jojoba oil are safe for dogs, as well as lavender only when properly-prepared, diluted and applied topically. Ajora is specially designed and formulated to be dog-friendly, however, every dog is different and has different sensitivities and needs.

Before spritzing on your dog, let them smell it first so they can get a better sense of it. For hesitant first-timers, try introducing on dog bedding or patch test. Start small when introducing a new product to your dog, by applying only a small amount. Monitor your dog for any allergic reaction. If your dog shows any signs of a reaction or abnormal behaviour, discontinue use and contact a veterinarian. Do not let dog ingest, store in a safe place and spritz at the back of the neck and along the spine. Avoid contact with ears, eyes, nose and mouth.

Suitable for all breeds and coat types from 12+ weeks old.

Is Ajora Grooming Spray gentle on dog’s skin?

Ajora dog spritz is water-based and made with naturally-derived ingredients. It does not contain any harsh chemicals or synthetic fragrances and is pH-balanced.

Lavender – can help soothe and provide relief for dogs itchy or irritated skin as it is a natural anti-inflammatory, antihistamine, pain reliever and has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. Much like it does for humans, lavender can also promote a calming effect to anxious or hyperactive dogs. Lavender also acts as an insect repellant. If your dog has an issue with fleas and ticks, or if pesky mosquitoes swarm on your next trek out of the house, applying Ajora to your dog's coat could help reduce the chance of bites.

Gingergrass – antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, gingergrass oil is notorious for its skincare benefits. In fact, the herb has been used for centuries in India to make soaps, wrinkle creams, and scar creams. Gingergrass has antiseptic properties that can help fight infection and reduce muscle tension, and like lavender can act as an insect repellant.

Are Ajora products tested on animals?

All our products are cruelty free and never tested on animals.
Nor do they contain any animal products or by-products.

How do I use Ajora Dog Grooming Spray?

Shake and spritz 10cm from your dog’s coat, at the back of the neck and along the spine. Gently comb, brush, or massage into your pet’s coat. Avoid contact with ears, eyes, nose and mouth.

Jojoba – Jojoba oil is nontoxic, hypoallergenic and rich in Vitamin E, a natural antioxidant. It provides moisturizing relief for dog’s dry skin. Plus helps unclog hair follicles, condition the coat to soften and shine leaving fur as soft as a young pup’s!

Is Ajora Grooming Spray suitable for dogs with sensitive skin?

For dogs with sensitive skin, try introducing on dog bedding or patch test. Start small when introducing a new product to your dog, by applying only a small amount. Monitor your dog for any allergic reaction. If your dog shows any signs of a reaction or abnormal behaviour, discontinue use and contact a veterinarian. Use sparringly for hyper-sensitive dogs.

Can I use Ajora Dog Grooming Spray on my cat?

No, this product should only be used on dogs. Do not use on cats.

How long will the scent from the Dog Grooming Spray last?

The scent is long-lasting and typically can remain fragrant on your dog for up to 1-3 days. It’s also important to remember how powerful dogs’ noses really are! What seems like a faint scent to us can be overwhelming to a dog and their 225-300 million smell receptors. That’s why we recommend using it once or twice a week, or as necessary. Do not use it everyday to avoid overwhelming your dog.

Are your products 100% natural?

No. However, all our products are naturally-derived and have no synthetic fragrance, parabens or nasties. We use only pure essential oils.

The reason we do not label are products as 100% natural is due to the inclusion of a naturally-derived solubiliser. Without a solubiliser, the oil and water would not combine causing inconsistency and safety concerns.
